Victoria was born and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. In her early teens, she came to London and her education continued in Highgate, North London. In the mid 1990’s she took a significant role as Executive Assistant to an international investor and property magnate – a role which changed her career and life path. A diverse career followed with a common theme – Victoria was always to hold leadership positions in the principle office responsible for efficient and effective operations at whichever company she worked.
In 2012 Victoria took a role heading up the secretariat of the respected London Diamond Bourse, with no former knowledge of the Diamond Trade yet acquiring everything she needed to thrive professionally in this exclusive and historic institution, ultimately becoming its inaugural Chief Operating Officer within eighteen months. She became a respected industry commentator, with her opinion regularly sought by international media. She has written extensively for trade journals and was an awards panel judge for four consecutive years. Victoria also holds diplomas in Digital Marketing, Branding, Social Media Marketing and Membership Management.
Despite not being born in England, Victoria considers herself to be a Londoner and believes fervently in the preservation on The City and Mid-Town. She sat on the Camden Business Board and was an executive board member for the Hatton Garden BID board. She has been acknowledged twice in the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 as a Business Big Shot. In early 2020, Victoria was celebrated as one of Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs in the UK by F:Entrepreneur.
Victoria lives with her husband in South East London and has one adult son, and three younger step children. Outside her role for The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers she commits her time to working for a small charitable organisation, TechMums https://techmums.co/ who seek to promote mothers’ interaction with digital technology – a cause she believes in passionately. Outside of work, Victoria enjoys a good mix of country spaces and the cultural life of London, usually accompanied by good food in the company of her family and friends. When time permits she loves to travel; particularly to Spain where she has a home and close family in residence.
