The Company had its annual Carol Service on Tuesday 6th December at our affiliated church of St Botolph's-without-Aldgate. It was led by the Rector Rev Laura Burgess and our Chaplin the Rev Fr Peter Harris, who gave the usual very interestin and appropriate address.
Liveryman Bill Price had once again this year arranged for the Choir of Christ Church Bexleyheath to add a high degree of professionalism to the singing of carols. This was led by Chourmaster Anthony Holcroft and the organist was Jeremy Ducker on what is believed to be the oldest organ in London which was fully refurbished a few years ago.
This year the Master John Harding assisted by the Clerk Stephen Thomas gave little Christmas gifts to the younger members of the Choir.
Following the Carol Service, the Rev Laura Burgess allowed us to enjoy a very pleasurable glass of wine with sandwiches and snacks arranged by Maureen Bush and Mavis Ogus. This was a fitting end to another full Lightmongers' year and the opportunity to wish all a happy Christmas.
