The Lightmongers annual Charity Golf Fund-raising Day had to be cancelled this year due to COVID-19. During May Captain (now Colonel Sir) Tom Moore received the Freedom of the City of London, in recognition of his phenomenal COVID-19 fund-raising on behalf of NHS charities, with which we are all very familiar. The Construction Livery Group held its 2020 awards ceremony at Mansion House on 2nd March 2020. The awards date back to 2001 when Masters certificates were first awarded to those who hold leading positions in their profession. We held our annual Carol service on the 4th of December in our Company Church, St Botolph’s without Aldgate. The service was conducted by the Rev Laura Jorgenson and was a traditional service of lessons and carols. Mary Hare our affiliated school for deaf children, held their annual Speech day with Prize Giving for the children on 29th November. The guest of honour was an old boy, Tom Wilson, now manager of the Design Museum.
